At 40 years of age, while working 12 hour shifts as a steelworker and raising a beautiful young family, I decided to follow my passion and become a qualified fitness and nutrition coach. 

Sounds ridiculous right??

The truth is no, its not at all ridiculous. In fact I implore you to start something that you believe will make your life happier and more fulfilling. Whether it be a career change, running your first marathon or taking your first steps to achieving a healthier lifestyle.

Using my vast experience in competitive sports and training from a very young age, coupled with years of self education. I have developed my own training and nutrition strategies, with plenty of trial and error. I decided to pursue qualifications with The BTN Academy as a Level 4 Nutrition Coach and a Level 4 Strength & Conditioning with SCE.

I had played sport all year round for more than 20 years, and as well as having a physically demanding job, weight management, mental stimulation and physical activity had never been an issue. My husband and myself started coaching with Paul 12 weeks ago. We have just come to an end of those 12 weeks, but are looking forward to the next 12. For me personally I have learnt so much: with food and with the training and everything in-between. The nutrition has been spot on, and my eating habits weren't brilliant in the beginning (skipping meals etc) but with the numerous talks with Paul and him knowing what I wanted to gain from it, led to my eating habits and nutrition being so much better! I have a much healthier attitude to food now, and that combined with the training, I have seen such an improvement of my overall body shape. But more importantly the mental health side of things also, by finding out your misconceptions, Paul then helps you towards a healthy attitude and lifestyle in general. I can't thank him enough, and here's to the next 12 weeks!

"I have worked with Paul for the past 12 weeks, alongside my wife. I had lost a lot of weight before starting this process, but got to a bit of a standstill, so needed the help and advise from Paul to carry on. It wasn't all plain sailing, we had to work through a few issues with calories, and once we talked through what I wanted to achieve, Paul would change things along the way to suit my needs. It was good to have a coach that listens to the needs of each client individually, and not just a generic process. It is no quick fix and through this coaching, I have learnt that it's more of a life style change, even signed up for a 10k run! Which I wouldn't have had the confidence to do before Paul's coaching, so thank you."
